Accredited BTEC First Awards specifications now available to download. So that’s 2 compulsory units and 2 optional units. I’m still not entirely sure what that means for colleges. I’m assuming that as we run the BTEC First Diploma we don’t have to change yet because the new spec for this is not accredited and we will change to the new spec in 2013. Any views?
Enterprise Village
February 26, 2012I’ve just discovered this site. There are some useful links to case studies of good practice in enterprise. I’m not quite sure why I hadn’t heard of it before given that it states that it is “The result of the DfE contract to support Enterprise Education in all schools and colleges in England from primary through to FE.”
The annual conference looks interesting. Has anyone had any experience of this organisation that they would like to share?
MyBnk – Looks good
February 20, 2012Interesting article about work experience – do you integrate it into your BTEC courses?
February 5, 2012Secret Santa #10
December 14, 2011Yesterday’s Santa was Lorraine Pascale. Who is Santa today?

Santa is busy organising the Boxing day inter elf football match. He’s brought in some top Spanish elves and thinks his team ‘elfski’ will win hands down.
Secret Santa #9
December 13, 2011Yesterday’s Santa was Sir Alan Sugar. Who is this model Santa?

The time has come for the elves to make the christmas cake. They are using Santa’s favourite recipe. It always turns out well. It’s ’Baking Made Easy’ The head elf wants to know if Santa wants party food too. Just a quiche, Lorraine, he replies.

December 12, 2011Secret Santa #7
December 9, 2011Yesterday’s santa was Michael O’Leary. Who is today’s santa?
It all got a bit fiery in Santa’s grotto last Christmas eve. The elves hid the pallets to store the presents on. Never mind, by Boxing Day Santa thought it was hilarious. Oh those devious elves!
Secret Santa #6
December 8, 2011Yesterday’s Santa was Mervyn King. Who is it today?

Santa’s sleigh is overloaded. He is wondering how he will make it pay this year what with the price of fuel rising and air taxes. Maybe he’ll have to charge for extras – wrapping paper, bows and labels. A budget sleighline will do much better in the recession he thinks.
Secret Santa #5
December 7, 2011Yesterday’s Santa was Karren Brady. Well done to Birmingham City football club and Cookie for their correct guesses. But who is this?
Oh dear Santa’s plans keep going wrong. He’s feeling all deflated now. The elves are showing some interest though and have made him a nice cup of tea to QuEnch his thirst! Maybe this will get him out of the slump and he’ll recover by tomorrow!
